I am a Utah Woman blogger. I’m on the phone with another Utah woman blogger (Kelly Anderson at StartUp Princess which has startup advice for women entrepreneurs). What other Utah woman bloggers are there?

Dooce is the most famous Utah woman who blogs (even if she’d rather live in LA). There is Laura Moncur who is great. She Twitters and threatened to stop recently. She can’t stop because her twitters are a staple of my life now. I’ll just twitter this (Dooce does Twitter, not often, but she does). There are the buzzbooster women.

I really brand myself as an internet marketing or affiliate marketing blogger, but it’s always easier to rank on local terms. I just noticed that no one ranks on the term “Utah Woman Blogger” so I thought I would, starting hopefully tonight or tomorrow. Let’s see how long it takes.

If you’d like a one hour presentation on how blogging can help power your web site, get in touch with me. Use the contact form above. Also, I’d like to hear Dooce speak in Utah about her life as a blogger.

Update: My experiment worked, it took me less than one hour to rank #1 for Utah Woman Blogger in Google. You have to love blogs.

Very interesting experiment Janet. Just further evidence of the SE benefits of blogging and the WordPress platform in particular. I’m now in the habit of performing keyword research prior to making blog posts. I use Micro Niche Finder for this. I just ran “Utah Woman Blogger” through it and it couldn’t find any searches in the free version of WordTracker. You probably didn’t need to go quite that long on the tail. “Utah Blogger” gets less than 30 searches a month, but only has 905 competing pages (exact matches) in Google. Surprisingly, ‘Utah Bloggers” also gets less than 30 searches a month, but has a whopping 21,800 competing pages in Google.

Thanks for your comment. Sometimes I do keyword research but not on this blog (at least not very often). I just love writing. On ecommerce blogs I do optimize every post.

I really just wanted to see how fast I could be #1. It was cake because there was no one listed. I didn’t do any research on demand or competition. I was searching to see if anyone was listed because I was looking for a Utah blogger who is a woman as a possible speaker for my friend’s conference.

I know who you are, and it’s pretty bad when I answer your email late through my blog! I did read it. I meant to reply.
So yes, you remind me that you are another Utah woman blogger.

Now I want to write an entry saying that I’m a Utah Woman Blogger.

Is it wrong that I’m so proud that I’m #5 on the ranking for the words, “Deseret Industries”?
