I got a comment through email about the success a company has had releasing search engine optimized press releases through PRWeb. They shared a little about their stats with me. They were good (each industry is different) but could be even better. How?
PRWeb has an editorial score - which means they grade your writing. It’s a scale from 1-5 with 5 being akin to getting a PageRank of 10 on Google. Well, not quite that impossible, but near. Your press release must be well-written and newsworthy. Also, to get the biggest impact, optimized with keyword phrases and links.
The reason it’s important to get a high editorial score is that journalists and others sign up for feeds of new releases. You can limit what you see based on the score. I choose 4 and above. I always get 4s. I asked PRWeb how to get a 5 and they said, walk on water. Then they said they’d hire me if I did. If I lived in Washington I’d do what it took.
I want to do another test running releases on different level payments to see what difference it makes. I’ve never tested the $300 release. That would be for big news and if you had multimedia to attach with it. Has anyone seen success with the $300 level release?
In coming weeks I’m doing more SEO content writing and contracting. I’ll also be a regular writer on Marketing Pilgrim daily. If you have any news send it my way.
