PRWeb Tip: Best Day to Release your Press Release
I asked someone at PRWeb the best day to release your press release. They said on a Tuesday or Wednesday. That’s generally speaking. I’d avoid Friday or weekends in most cases.

Just to be the contrary voice here, there are many who will argue that the weekends are the better days. Since there are fewer releases, your’s will be closer to the top of the heap in the email lists and RSS feeds. But more importantly for some, they’re not necessarily concerned with reaching the media in a ‘push’ delivery sort of way (which is where the Tuesday/Wednesday recommendation is rooted) but prefer to have the strongest online visibility for when the media, or even more importantly - prospects, are using the search engines.
This remains one of the best means of reaching the media since, according to a recent survey of over 1000 journalists, this is where they are looking for story leads and doing their research.

Unfortunately (I think…) I learned this through trial and error. Though I suppose it’s still a win for me since I did learn from my trial and error.
Then again, there are certain things that individuals in my database would like to get to reading over the weekend.
So is it better said that it ultimately depends on who your target demographic is?

Hmm, as a daily newspaper editor I’d say weekends are a good time to send out media releases. Monday’s paper is the hardest to fill from a news perspective. A good media release on a relevant issue is often welcome.

For online press releases, your target news papers must have some statistics on registered users. How many users read online on each week (or weekend) day with certain profile?
I believe, goal should be to deliever to as many users as you can on same day..

I think any of the days is a crucial day to press release. During weekdays, people tends to busy working and who cares whether there are any showbiz big news.
