CarePages – Like a Blog for People in the Hospital
A close friend for over 20 years had a premature baby Lucy. Lucy has been in the hospital for 2 months. My friend uses CarePages to keep us up-to-date on Lucy’s progress. It’s basically a blog but repackaged.
Have you ever been in the hospital and been too sick to keep everyone updated? Hospitals are sterile and lonely at a time when you need to feel there is a community of people around you.
My friend felt our support by re-reading comments we left when she was discouraged. They’re all in one place. Not a scattered email here or there. So it’s easy to read and remember how many unseen people are there pulling for baby Lucy.
We loved knowing each time there was an important change. We got an email. We could see pictures. The first pictures were a baby with cord and IVs all over her. Today a healthy baby is going home!
Services like this help people’s lives. It’s what I love about the internet and technology. It makes it easier to communicate and take action. It can isolate and divide us. At its best it does the opposite. It strengthens relationships.
