If you are looking for a quick way to edit your images online, these free online photo editors are lifesavers. I especially like SnipShot because you can get an actual URL for your image (no need to ftp your image to your web host).

Today I’m looking at Picnik (more features, easier to use but not sure if you get a URL for your image). These are great because I think just about all software is weak compared to Photoshop. I can’t stand Paint or Word Photo editor. These are great alternatives if you don’t need something as powerful as Photoshop.

Here is a list of free online photo editors:
Fauxto
Picnik – Posts images directly to Flickr and other photo sites
Picture2Life
Pixenate
Snipshot

SnipShot Tutorial: – Getting a URL for a picture
1. Open an image (click browse) go to “My Pictures” or wherever you have saved your picture.
2. Edit or manipulate your picture. Save it, using the button in the top right hand corner.
3. Click on webshots. Find the “direct link” option at the bottom. Copy the image URL in the box. Paste the URL in your blog (go into the code or HTML) and type this: img src=”PASTE THE URL HERE” put a < sign before and a > sign after.

If you have more free time than I do, this article goes over the features of each photo editing site in depth.

Hope this helps!

I haven’t used any of the tools you mention, but I really like Picasa, a free tool from Google. I guess it’s not an online editor (you have to download/install the software), but it’s very easy to use and it lets you quickly edit and upload your photos.

BTW–I think you have a typo in that first snipshot link.
