Google Adwords Question: Wildcard, etc.
Can someone help me with this Google Adwords question? If I want my ad to show up in ANY search with my branded terms, is there a wildcard option? Is it tied to a specific Adgroup or can it be applied to all at once? I noticed that if you search on our company name comma another term, we don’t show up. I noticed someone else always is. How are they doing this??
I tried Google AdWords help and I’m not sure I understood it. It seems like they’re saying you can make sure you come up for a term without periods in it, say newspapergrlwordpress, by putting in a “/”.
Sometimes people don’t put dots or put odd spacing (i.e. wwwnewspapergrl SPACE wordpress) or even just type your domain name in the search box. It would be nice to capture this traffic in an easy way.

Just add the keyword Cymphonix with no quotes or brackets to your AdGroup. You will then show up for any and all variations of Cymphonix.
See broad match in the Google AdWords account manager.

Jeremy,
Thanks for the comment. Although I do have a broad match on Cymphonix, it is not showing up in all cases. For example: someone types in “Infoworld, Cymphonix”. We’re not there. Our VAR is showing up (and they do an excellent job) but we’re not.

Hi Janet…this is probably due to budget. Unless you have an astronimcal budget, your ad will only appear sporadically throughout the day; and not with every impression.
I hope this helps.

Michael,
Thanks for your suggestion. It was good but that’s not it. Just for good measure I added Cymphonix to the keyword list (without quotes or brackets) another time yesterday. I’m not maxxing my budget. I have dayparting set to exclude the middle of the night. I search first thing in the morning when I get in to work. Still not coming up.
This is driving me nuts.
