Quotes from J.K. Rowling
I’ve been watching the A&E Biography interview of J.K. Rowling. I guess I’m most interested in the writer and her journey. She is so straight and charming explaining how things along the way have been both wonderful and terrifying at different times.
When speaking of living poor as a single mom:
People ask, “How did you do it? How did you raise a baby and write a book? And the answer is – I didn’t do housework for 4 years. I am not superwoman! Living in squalor – that was the answer!”
I haven’t read her books yet – I was going to read them to my son but someone told me he is too young. She sold the first book for about $4,000. When she was learned she’d be a published author it was her dream. “That was second to the birth of my daughter, the best day of my life.”
It was year before she could become a full-time writer.
