What I Usually Get My Mom for Mother’s Day
Flowers…most years that is what I get my mom for mother’s day…but this year (wait, I can’t say. What if she reads this?).
Thank goodness for overnight shipping or I’d never make it in time. My mom is no nonsense.
My favorite quote from her is: “Janet isn’t a complacent person, and she doesn’t let us be either.” I rarely remember things like this but she said it many years ago and I haven’t forgotten.
Thanks for being my mom…you’re where I get my social side and that no nonsense part of me (in case you are reading…and if you are, could you leave a comment, just click the comment link below).

Aww but what kind of flowers? My favorites are tulips. Or sending a plant, a present that lasts!

My mom kills plants. Last year it was roses from Speaking Roses so they said, “Happy Mother’s Day” on them. My favorite is calla lilies, tulips sound good too.
I really don’t like potted flowers because I get my hopes up. Then I’m disappointed when they die. I killed a gardenia plant in about 3 days recently.
But I can keep regular plants alive, thankfully that wasn’t an inherited trait.

I did not kill any plants this year. In fact, the roses you added to my flowers still look good. Did I really say that about being complacent? I don’t remember. Anyway, I love the wallet, and it will last a lot longer than flowers.

This is the first time my mom has ever commented on a blog! Nice work mom. Yes, you did say that about being complacent – Ted heard it and noted it. Glad you like the wallet.
