
Am I the only one who is bugged when media talks about something and doesn't link to it?? Sometimes I think writers believe they are being impartial by mentioning but not linking to a business.
It's so easy to link, it's bad customer service not to. Just by talking about a business you are already giving it enough attention to warrant a link!

I agree. I also dislike when said media outlets use Javascript redirects for outgoing links so they’re not really links.
I could not agree more. I did a post a while back talking about people being stingy with their outbound links. I think linking out adds value to the article and if you only have inbound links I don’t think you are going to get as much love on Google as those linking out.
I agree that the link stinginess of those sites is bothersome. It makes me not want to talk with the media.
In fact, the place you want to get mentioned today is in the media outlet’s blog. It has almost the same “impressiveness” value, and they actually link to you.
